We Know How to Throw a Party Annual Events

Something to Celebrate

Due to COVID 19 Annual Events will not take place until the province is reopened. There’s always something to celebrate in the Lower North Thompson Valley. There are fun events planned for every season. In the spring you can celebrate Tod Mountain Days and in the summer bring the whole family to Barriere’s Music in the Park. In the cooler months put on your boots and head over to the Barriere Fall Fair & Rodeo, and in the winter, head up to the Sun Peaks Winter Wine Festival.

Sun Peaks
Wine & Food Festival

If you are new to the wines of British Columbia, we are excited to show you our passion through our events, and if you are returning, thank you for your loyalty. Let the snow fall, the wines be poured and the food savoured at the Sun Peaks Wine & Food Festival.

Tod Mountain
Spring Festival

Don't miss this annual event at Sun Peaks Resort! The end of every winter ski season wraps up with a fun weekend celebration that includes Dummy Downhill, Slush Cup, Top to Bottoms Race and Retro Days. The energy is always high with tons of fun events to keep you smiling.

North Thompson
Fall Fair & Rodeo

The annual North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo in Barriere features fun events such as bull riding and steer wrestling as well as three full days of BCRA Championship Rodeo Finals. Take colours, sights and smells of the locals’ handicrafts as you walk down the rows of goodies at the fall fair.

Barriere
Bandshell Fridays

Come dance or just tap your feet every Friday in July and August at the Barriere Bandshell ‘Music in the Park’ event. The music starts at 6 p.m. in Fadear Park – located in downtown Barriere. Come alone or with a group, bring a lawn chair or a blanket and start your Friday off right, doing what Barriere locals love to do!
